Local Experience Report ★ The final year of Mino’s all‑female “Megumi” portable shrine

━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━ ━

Every second weekend in April, Mino Festival fills the streets with three events: “Hana‑Mikoshi,” ornate parade floats, and comic street theatre.

The flower‑adorned mikoshi features 250–300 cherry‑pink washi blossoms—an eye‑catching highlight for cultural immersion tours.

Among the teams is Megumi, a women‑only crew who build and carry their own shrine—2025 will be their grand finale. Our staff will join and share behind‑the‑scenes reports—ideal storytelling for tour operators promoting authentic Japanese festivals.

First step: creating the paper blossoms in a disused local gym, filled with laughter and community spirit.

Stay tuned for the next newsletter when we attach the flowers to the shrine roof!

Remember: our shop is open during the Mino Festival weekend (12–13 Apr). Add a workshop stop while your group enjoys the parade.
