High School Students Had a Blast!

This Wednesday, 30 students from a high school in Tokyo visited us for their school trip craft experience.

They chose our experience among five options, and we're thrilled they selected us.

Most were girls, but the few boys were highly enthusiastic.

They were deeply engaged until the very last minute.

The girls quickly progressed, creating beautiful, original designs.

Although time was tight for making both Washi Korokoro and Washi Plates in one hour,

they left with big smiles, saying, "That was fun!"

We, the staff, also enjoyed a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

This facility allows you to see, touch, and experience Mino Washi paper, which boasts over 1,300 years of history and tradition. You can learn everything about Mino Washi—from its history and raw materials to the papermaking process—and even try papermaking yourself.

In addition to permanent exhibits showcasing the history, techniques, and future potential of Mino Washi, the museum hosts unique special exhibitions centered around paper.

Washi Korokoro Craft Experience

Every year-end, we hold Washi Korokoro craft workshops at airports.

Last year, participants made the Zodiac Dragon for the New Year.

We hope to host it again in 2025, even with the less popular Snake zodiac.

Our Washi Korokoro craft kits come with instructions.

The kits include pre-printed faces and die-cut parts.

With just glue and scissors, you can create adorable roly-poly dolls.

*Some minor cutting is required but it's simple.

Participants can make them independently, so event staff only need to supervise.

Suitable for all ages, from young children to seniors.

We provide tools like glue and scissors for your convenience.

One set for 10 people: ¥5,000 + tax

Contents: 10 tweezers, 5 glue containers (1 per 2 people), 5 scissors (1 per 2 people), 1 handmade works file

In addition to zodiac animals, we offer dozens of options to choose from.

Minowa's Musings [Downpour During Akari Art Festival]

Last Saturday was the Akari Art Festival,

and our experience shop's street was turned into a pedestrian zone at night!

But the weather was gloomy from the morning, and as expected, it rained in the afternoon (T_T)

Even though the pedestrian zone started at 17:00,

there were only a few visitors...

We invited customers to shelter from the heavy rain in our shop,

and some ended up enjoying the craft experience during their stay!

One guest lamented about bringing overseas visitors in such weather,

but they all enjoyed the Washi Korokoro craft experience together.

We took a group photo at the end.

They said it became a great memory and left happily.

We also had visitors from Yamaguchi Prefecture,

making it an evening filled with various encounters.

Oh! By the way, that morning,

my second grandson's sports day was successfully held!

Watching my grandson dance diligently to the routine he practiced so hard,

this grandma couldn't stop grinning!
