Mino City Recommended Spot (Gifu, Central Japan, near Nagoya) | 11 Highlights of an Easy-to-Arrange Mino Washi Experience for Group Tours and Tour Operators *Check the 3rd article!
Thank you, as always, for reading.
[As of January 30, 2026] Google Reviews: 4.9 rating, 1,060 reviews (and counting)
Your warm feedback gives our staff energy every day. Thank you so much, truly.
Our workshop is a hands-on craft experience where you can enjoy Mino Washi by “touching, choosing, and making” (a perfect Japan cultural activity for FIT travelers and group tours alike).
While discovering the charm and tradition of Mino Washi, you can create one-of-a-kind dolls and Japanese souvenirs.
From the gentle texture of washi paper, to choosing colors and patterns, to turning your own creativity into form, this is a five-senses experience of traditional Japanese culture (ideal for Japan group travel itineraries, educational tours, and corporate incentive trips).
Our workshop is located in the heart of Mino City, in the “Udatsu no Agaru Machinami” historic townscape district.
You can enjoy the experience inside an Edo-period building with an “udatsu” dated to 1760, a designated property within an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
From solo travelers to groups of up to 50 guests (about one sightseeing bus), everyone can enjoy the workshop at the same time.
For groups of more than 50, we recommend splitting into a “Mino City stroll & shopping” team and a “craft experience” team for smooth operations.
Couples, friends, families, group tours, and company trips can all share a memorable time together (a great add-on between destinations on a Japan tour route).
Workshop menu options include Washi Korokoro, washi uchiwa fans, washi earrings and piercings, washi plates, washi pen stands, washi bookmarks, and more.
You can follow the sample exactly—totally OK.
You can also customize it intuitively—also OK.
Or you can create it in the style of your favorite theme or character—also OK.
Why not make your very own one-of-a-kind souvenir from Japan?
We offer 30+ kit designs—surely you will find something you want to make.

・Workshop News This Week | A cozy experience on snowy days. Our “World & Japan Map Sticker Project” is still growing♪
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
This morning, Mino City was covered in a blanket of snow.
This year, there were forecasts of potentially warning-level snowfall, and I was nervous about how much would pile up—but when I arrived at the workshop, the snow had already been cleared.
I checked with everyone in the company and no one knew who had done it. Then we discovered that a neighbor from our same local community had kindly cleared the snow right in front of the shop.
My heart felt full from that kindness in the cold. Thank you so much.
In the end, snowfall was lighter than predicted, and transportation was not heavily disrupted—what a relief.
Still, for inbound guests who cannot see snow in their home countries, simply seeing snow brought huge smiles.
After visiting us, they were heading to Oku-Mino for a snow experience, but they also enjoyed taking commemorative photos right in front of the snow-covered scenery in Mino City.
The Udatsu no Agaru Machinami historic townscape becomes even more atmospheric with a snowy look, making a winter Japan itinerary feel special just by walking through it.
And after moving from the parking area to the workshop, it’s time for a hands-on Mino Washi craft experience in a warm indoor space.
That comforting feeling the moment you step in from the cold air is one of winter’s unique pleasures.
Touch the texture of washi paper, choose colors and patterns, cut and paste, and bring it to life.
At first, everyone works quietly, but as the pieces near completion, guests start admiring each other’s creations, taking photos, and sharing laughter.
Moments like that warm our hearts too.
The workshop takes 30 to 60 minutes, making it easy to add to a tour itinerary, and you can take your finished piece home right away.
Why not enjoy a one-of-a-kind memory-making experience along with winter sightseeing in snowy Mino City?
Some guests worry because they feel “not good with crafts,” but it’s fine to follow the sample or arrange it freely.
Our staff will support the key points, so even first-timers can join with confidence.
After enjoying the snow, please come experience a warm, happy time of creating together, showing each other your work, and laughing together.

・In-Store Items | A limited-time encounter. Disney items are while supplies last! Hinamatsuri items are arriving one after another!
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…
Right now, our shop floor is especially lively♪
This week’s in-store highlights are a two-feature lineup: **“Disney items” and “Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival) items.”**
Both lineups feel truly “limited-time,” so if you’re interested, please take a look soon♪
■ Disney Items | Limited to 30 units, while supplies last (no restock planned)
Disney items have appeared in our Washi Korokoro series.
The cute rounded shape pairs perfectly with the gentle feel of Mino Washi, making them very popular in-store.
And here is the important notice. This time, these items are:
・Limited to 30 units only (ends when sold out)
・Available only while supplies last (no restock planned)
・We have already received orders, and the remaining quantity is steadily decreasing.
If you’re thinking “I’m interested!” please come soon.
You can see the actual items in-store and purchase them on the spot.
They’re perfect as travel memories or gifts.
Please come meet Mickey and friends in their adorable Washi Korokoro form♪
■ Hinamatsuri Items | Add handmade warmth to make spring celebrations even more special
Right now, our shop is filled with spring’s main stars: Hinamatsuri items.
We offer a variety of materials as well.
Mino Washi Hina dolls (gentle texture, elegant presence)
Chirimen fabric Hina dolls (soft and cute, warm Japanese feel)
Glass Hina dolls (sparkling and gorgeous, great for modern rooms too)
Even with the same “Hina dolls,” different materials create different expressions and moods.
Please enjoy finding the one that makes you think, “This is the one!”♪
And here’s one more happy point.
For eligible items, we will make a personalized name plaque for free!
(For celebrating a precious child, it adds a strong sense of “one-and-only” specialness.)
Here are a few recommended ways to choose Hinamatsuri items:
・Welcome one as the “main” Hina set for your beloved child
・For families with two daughters, it’s lovely to have a shared Hina set plus an additional one for the other child
・Enjoy different sizes for different display locations, such as your family home and your own home
Gentle expressions and warmth that only handmade items can create.
Why not welcome this spring together with Hinamatsuri items from Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd.?
If you’re thinking, “I’m curious about both Disney and Hinamatsuri…!”
please compare the real items in-store.
Our staff will be happy to help you choose the perfect one♪
~~~ Disney Item Description ~~~
A cute, round Mickey Mouse.
The Mino Washi used as the material is a traditional Japanese paper with over 1,300 years of history.
The way it pops back up again and again reminds you of energetic, resilient Mickey.
Mickey Mouse has brought smiles across generations, and his brightness pairs beautifully with the warmth of washi paper.
This celebratory item is made with the craftsmanship passed down at Ishikawa Paper Goods Ltd., founded in 1902.
・Mayumi “Mino” Diary | Winter in Mino City, Gifu: snow and snowboard season
━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━…━
It’s snow season. Do you like winter snow?
I love it.
There are many reasons, but the biggest one is snowboarding.
When snow piles up, it instantly lifts my mood♪
From Mino City, Gifu, if you drive north on the national road for about two hours, you’ll reach a ski resort area.
It’s great to live somewhere that makes it easy to head out for winter activities.
When I was in elementary school, we had ski school as part of our classes, and I remember going out with my grade—and sometimes the whole school.
Back then, PTA parents raised funds for the children by holding bazaars at sports day events and collecting recyclables, so the kids could have that experience.
I also served as a PTA officer at my daughter’s school, and in recent years the activities have been scaled back, so the burden feels lighter than it used to be.
That’s why I felt renewed gratitude, realizing again how much the PTA officers in my time truly did for the children.
Now, back to snowboarding.
This year there’s plenty of snow, so the ski resort conditions look promising.
I’ve replaced the gear I used to rent, waxed my board, and I’m fully ready.
…But the hardest part is “making time to go ride.”
Unlike when I was single, once you become a mother, your own time naturally gets pushed back.
On my commute, when I see cars heading north with snowboards and skis loaded up, I can’t help thinking, “Lucky… I want to go too.”
Winter still has a long way to go. I hope I can make time somewhere this year and get up to the snowy mountains.
